A juvenile red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) awaits release from a kennel carrier in a pasture near Joseph, Oregon. The bird had been picked up by motorists just hours before, and delivered to the local Oregon Division Of Fish and Wildlife. The bird was not injured, but was simply struggling to fly with a full crop. Ideally, It should have been left alone.
